Shopping Trolley
The 'GreenID' shopping trolley leverages the potential of RFID and self-scanning technologies to offer an unprecedented level of customer service. It accommodates reusable shopping bags so that Items do not need to be unloaded for checking at the till. This makes it possible to load items directly in the bags and also allows separation of various items in categories such as fruits and vegetables, cleaning products, squashable items, frozen food etc. The trolley directly addresses the need for better maneuverability by incorporating Brake Assisted Steering which is a highly intuitive and potentially patentable steering system. A child seat can be attached on top of the trolley, it is safe and fun to use. There are even steps which unfold for riding it.
The GreenID trolley has been successfully tested in supermarkets. The design is now available for licensing, ahead of RFID tagging becoming a reality in supermarkets. Materials & finish: Steel tubes, electroplated zinc coating, steering system, self scanning.
