Nintendo & Navigon interior design strategy for Nortec stores in Athens, Greece.
Oof Design developed the 'Fun, Friendly and Technologically Savvy' interior design strategy proposal for Nortec's chain of stores stocking Nintendo and Navigon products in Athens, Greece. The brief required a playful, homely but also expert character with 2/3 of the floorspace dedicated to Nintendo and 1/3 to Navigon. The stores would incorporate low-level displays, lounge, trial and networked areas, offering products, services, accessories, apparel and collectibles.

Instead of “faster+bigger=better” power and graphics, Nintendo differentiates successfully on experience, providing innovative gameplay through controllers that afford the user immersive interaction. Nintendo appeals to families but is still compelling to core gamers. As a result, by Decenber 2009 wii had sold 50m units worldwide compared to 30m for Xbox and 23m for PS3.
Navigon car navigation systems are about “innovative technology and exciting design.”
Its competitors include TomTom, Garmin and Magellan.
Oof's strategic approach focused on creating a welcoming space that links the online and offline channels transcending traditional boundaries. By leveraging the services on offer we aim to create a solution-driven and not repair-driven arrangement. By directing innovative solutions around customer needs and understanding how customers feel and how they connect we aim to deliver a customer-centric and unique store experience to visitors.
